2010 Annual Spring Convention at Plymouth Massachusetts

           
The Mass Union of Public Housing Tenants Policy Board and Staff would like to announce its 2010 Annual Spring Convention.  The convention will take place April 23rd through the 25th.  This event will be hosted at the Raddison Hotel in Plymouth 180 Water Street, Plymouth Massachusetts.

NOW is the time to start planning for the Spring Convention.  Schedule your request for funding with your Local Housing Authority (LHA), or plan a fund raising event to help cover the cost of the convention.  Affiliation dues must be paid 30 days prior to the convention in order to vote.

Registration forms must be return no later than April 1st, 2010.  The cost for Saturday only includes three meals with coffee breaks and training materials.  The cost for all overnight lodging will include 5 meals with coffee breaks, Saturday night Awards Banquet plus all training and materials.

Please note:  You will be responsible for your meal on Friday evening.  Parents bringing children to the conference must add $100.00 to their fee to cover the cost of meals.  Hotel check in time will be Friday, April 23rd after 3:00 pm.  Check out time will be Sunday, April 25th morning at 11:00 am.

Invited guest speakers are: representatives from the Department of Housing and Community Development, US Housing and Urban Development, the Massachusetts General Court, Mass NAHRO and the United States Congress

Our 2010 Spring Convention Agenda will include discussions regarding public housing costs and proposed changes. The New Formula Funding for modernizing Massachusetts state public housing. Changing public housing and section 8 programs to single stream funded programs. Proposed changes to the federal public housing tenant participation program (24CFR964).

If there is someone you think deserves the “J Lincoln Durand” or “Thelma Rogers” Achievement Award” for his or her life achievements, “making a difference” after moving out of Public Housing, please fax or mail to the Mass Union Policy Board the name and biographical sketch of your nominee by March 27, 2010. The selected person must be present at our Saturday night banquet to receive their award.
