2008 Fall Convention to be held in Dedham

The Massachusetts Union of Public Housing Tenants will be hosting its Fall Convention at the Holiday Inn Dedham at 55Ariadne Road, Dedham Massachusetts, on October 25, 2008 at 9:00 am.
Registration Cost includes a continental breakfast, lunch and convention materials.

The theme of the convention is “Keeping Public Housing Affordable”.

Public Housing Authorities are required by law to have resident input on Planning for State and Federal modernization, Rent Calculation changes and Lease changes.
Public housing authorities in Massachusetts need more dollars because federal and state legislators for 10 years have under-funded the public housing program. They are developing rules and rents that are unfair and unaffordable for many residents.

Confirmed Guest

Dr. Samuel B. Little, President,
National Alliance for Resident Services in Affordable and Assisted Housing

Thomas Connelly, Executive Director
Massachusetts National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO)

Melanie Loveland-Hale, Housing Management Specialist

The Fall Convention workshops will address ways leaders can protect their communities. We shall discuss how residents can become commissioners. Please attend our timely conference. Don’t be caught not knowing your rights in public housing.
